U Ok hun? PM me. xx

  • A bit more heat??
Have you tried tightening it slightly first? That often helps break any corrosion that stops things moving.

  • I don’t get that people still want to use film, I also get the feeling that they do it to be “different” rather than having any real merit in using film.
Digital cameras have done to film what MP3s have done to LPs.
The only positives I can see from using a film camera is it forces you to consider your image a little more, because your film is…[Read more]

Book of Mormon all booked and a hotel in Bayswater (close, not!) for next week. She was well chuffed on christmas day. Managed to draw it out by giving her the travel tickets first, then the hotel ticket. About an hour later I gave her the show tickets!
Looking ofrward to have some “just the two of us” time. Love my son to bits, but I feel we…[Read more]

Not really Kryton, I only live about 100 miles away, regular visitor to the smoke.
Midweek in Jan it wont be as busy with people, compared to after easter, for example.

Whilst I’m tempted to gamble on getting tickets before the show, I really want to be a bit more organised than my usual play it by ear plans. Its a special treat for the OH so I…[Read more]

    Thanks for all the suggestions.
Im going for a midweek show, based on the logic that it’ll be cheaper, better seats available and London wont be so busy.

As a special treat for my OH I’m going to treat her to a theatre show in that London and a night at a hotel as a christmas prezzie.
Being a man, I havent really got a clue about what shows there are and whats good. Im guessing some sort of musical might be good, but what do I know?
So what would the STW collective suggest for an enjoyable fun…[Read more]

  • I once threw a pint glass out of a first floor window, which then bounced when it hit the ground. I was amazed!

  • I’d rather drive in the middle of the road than permanently f**k my engine thanks. Although if there was oncoming traffic, I’d either slow down or stop if necessary.

Little update. Car was lovely so I bought it. Facelift Manual with a very clean interior and exterior. Full leather, climate control, electric seats. Underneath at the back a little cruddy, but I’ll deal with that in the spring.
Needs a few minor bits doing. The front discs and pads will see me through the winter. Found a split intake hose before…[Read more]

Off to look at a V50 2.0 litre petrol tomorrow in Peterborough.
2008 full Volvo service history, 114k miles for £3.3k, so hoping to haggle them down to £3k or less.

The Exeo is a bargain, no arguement.
    BUT
    I
    DONT
    WANT
    A
    DIESEL!

  • bigyinn replied to the topic What car for £3.5k? in the forum Chat Forum 3 months ago

After lots of reading and searching, I’ve narrowed my choices down further. Both petrols because of the limited annual mileage and the short nature of the majority of journeys mean diesels don’t make a lot of sense financially and they’re not going to like plodding around the town.
    So the choices are:-
    Skoda Octavia Estate 1.8T Petrol
    Volvo V50…[Read more]

I’ve had Mazdas before, but a 6 is just a little bit TOO big for what I need.

Theres 1 petrol Exeo in the UK for sale and its a saloon.

A4s are on the list, so that should include Exeo’s too. From what I can see they’re very well spec’d. Whether I can find a petrol one in budget is another matter….

    Saabs are an outside possibility.
    Vauxhalls, just no.
A Mondeo, whilst nice, is just a bit bigger than we need / want.
Thinking about it, I’m leaning more towards petrol than diesel. For the age of cars I’m looking at, most diesels will have DPFs fitted, not a problem per-se, BUT, our car doesn’t do many long journeys and most of the use is short…[Read more]
