Forgot to put the yellow block in, when bleeding my rear brake.
At some point in the process – “why is brake fluid pissing all over the floor and why, for that matter, is there a piston on the floor?”

It’s not just cyclists.
Once, the vehicle that I was following was hit, head on, by a car coming the other way, which had swerved across the road.
It was a real mess, and the driver of the swerving car was bleeding heavily, and trapped in the car. The driver of the car that I’d been following, got out of the car herself, but sat on the floor,…[Read more] -

Check the mounting bolts for the rear brake caliper. The Shimano ones are referred to by length, but be aware that this is the length of the hole through the frame, that the bolt passes through – NOT the length of the bolt.

I’ve been getting out on my 2008 Genesis Altitude with a triple chainset & bar ends whilst my Trance is getting fixed over the last few weeks, and it’s been great fun

Take winter boots of and change to ‘garden shoes’ that wife hands to me
Give her the boots
Carry bike through house and into garden (we don’t have a back gate but, luckily, it’s a straight line through the hall/kitchen)
Hose down bike
Lube where needed
Put bike away
Stand in garden, with arms outstretched, slowly rotating, whilst…[Read more] -

I think you’ll find that it isn’t the GPS which is draining your phone battery, it’s the phone signal and data connection.
Put your phone in airplane mode, and the battery will last for a lot longer, whilst still recording your ride via Strava.Bear in mind that you won’t be able to receive calls, whilst doing this, but that’s one of the reason…[Read more]
