The idea for that one stemmed from a true event, except it was Frank Carson’s dressing room. You can Google it.

  • I went with an open plan bathroom, fully tiled, tiled tray, wetroom finish etc. It didn’t take long before I realised that water everywhere was a PITA. I’ve shower curtained off the shower area and when I can afford, a clear glass door will go in. (L shaped bathroom)

i think I bought that and played it once. (Sonic Youth’s pop side IIRC). Is it the one with a Madonna cover?.

MRT guy fell out of a helicopter when a rotor struck a crag during a rescue in the Langdales (we saw the damaged helicopter afterwards waiting to be picked up) don’t know what the final outcome was re the guy, but it was serious, obviously.

Having just come back to this, I’m man enough to hold my hand up and admit the added dimension of them being naive tourist visitors from abroad has altered my view somewhat (In all honesty, this added scenario did actually occur to me as a possible answer to understand an act of gross stupidity). I’m not sure it completely absolves them from…[Read more]

or would you rather we rescue them, and educate them and others through the experience?

I’d rather we rescue them, give them a right royal bollocking and threat of police charges against them, then educate them through the experience.

I think when you have a group of mates out, not wanting/daring to be the one to make the call might often be the issue.

arguably without the skills and knowledge – how do you know when the weathers gone too bad.

Under normal circumstances I’d agree, but not on this occasion, unless Lochaber has just experienced completely different weather to the rest of the country.

They said the group who were in blizzard conditions had “no ice axes, no crampons and as far as we are aware no maps”. Three of them were wearing trainers.

Believe it or not, they cater for all hobs. My point was don’t go spunking silly money on something like that unless your certain it’ll work with your hob (the single ring on my hob has a min pan dia of 13cm, so anything small has to go on the zone). A Cheap 4 ring affair might have it’s limitations.
