    Two dogs

Demerits stay on for three years. The last actual speeding ticket was a fine and no demerits. (or points) the two demerits I have expire eventually but this offense is beyond demerit points hence magistrates court.

I was doing 88mph in a 55mph zone or thereabouts.

Oh well batteries about to die so I’m going home. Trip the the beach dud wonders to clear my head. Thanks for some of the nicer comments and opinions.

So you got nothing from the awareness course? Just no points / fine?

Maybe you shouldn’t be driving if you are not fit to do so.

Maybe. Hindsight is 2020 though my friend.

@aphex_2k I was on a speed awareness course mate, so clearly I’m a prick like you. But seems it did make me reflect on the crap I do, how pious of me hey.

But it took getting caught and attending the course to make you reflect, or did you reflect on your driving before getting caught?

90 when you should have been doing 50! That’s +80% of the limit!

I understand your reasoning, all the ‘just trying to get ahead’ stuff, but really there’s no excuse for that. +20% I could maybe understand.

Yup. I know. Long gentle down hill. 2 lanes. Visibility for some distance. No side entrances / junctions. No houses as industrial area and no trucks as it was a Sunday. Bizarre to have a long straight dry road at 80 but single lane windy road through the hills 110.

We all get our day(s) in court I suppose.

Nuke I wasn’t asking for anything but as many find writing things down in bkack and white kind of helpful i though it might help clear things up in my own head. I wasn’t asking for or expecting opinions but obvs this is stw and some people can’t help being dicks can they? Don’t worry I’m not offended this is par for the course here.

Yeah it’s fair. I was speeding. Just many factors than just a heavy foot. Been driving since I was 17 and never done anything like this. Not even a sneaky beer or two. Always sober just cant believe I was going so much over the limit. I looked at the googke maps route from my starting point and it says 36 mins to home. My gps timeline says I was back in 35 mins so clearly I was on the limit for the majority of the journey, jusy seems 800m getting past a couple of cars and into the correct lane was excessive. You kind of get sick of the people who match your speed and dont let you back over so I just wanted to get ahead of these couple of cars with a safe distance ahead rather than cutting across too soon. Go hum life’s a bitch eh

I can still drive a car until the court decide what my punishment will be. Could be a 6 month ban and fine. Was signed off from work the previous week due to stress and diabetic burnout. I went back to work on the Monday after the Sunday I was caught speeding but only just got notified of the offence. No priors bar a few km over and $100 fine, no demerits. I have 2 demerits from Jan 18. Have since been signed off work and currently on annual leave which was pre booked. Was stressed as my insulin pump hasn’t been working properly since I got it, so three months of poor broken sleep which affected my work to the point where I was having panic attacks and put this down to work stress not the pump / lack of sleep but all adds up.

As I previously said I’ve admitted I was wrong but will just have to surrender my car for 28 days and see what happens on court.

Appreciate the diddums comment, really helpful. You have no idea what my life has been like the last couple of years and I really don’t give a flying fk of your opinion. Wish I was as righteous as you.

    Wasn’t in double demerits period

Cops just been charge is reckless driving. However the traffic act says reckless is 45 over the limit or greater than 155. They told me I was 42 over so I don’t see this as reckless in the eyes of the law but waiting in thrm to call me back. Car is booked for impound but I’m not sure if this still happens as the lower charge of dangerous driving I’m not sure has a forced impound.

Well, I had the morning to myself. Youtube and web how-to’s.

Stripped the machine. Cleaned it again. Seems to have cleared whatever blockage was in there. Steam wand works but still drips a bit but guess that’s some little silicon washer / grommet thing somewhere but ultimately, the machine now works and the grind has been set to as fine as it will go. All went back together perfectly and now… Coffee time and saved a coupla hundred in repair costs.

Phew, Hapi Christmal to won un awl.

    Coffeesnobs is next level.

I’m fine with grinding my own and used to have a Gaggia Coffee (pre classic) which was ace for espresso for a faff for everything else. Plus wife / inlaws / parents just like to push a button and get a coffee, not the whole process that I enjoy say with my Bialetti or Aeropress at work.

Will see why the repair/service “quote” might be but if +250 then I’ll be looking at a Magnifica S that’s been little used.

I saw this yesterday except on a steel bracelet. Oh my it’s lovely. But the shop had them for $750 and that’s not even close what I’d pay for one. So a bit of Googling I found the one with the rubber (or silicon) band for $300 (AUD prices) and was SO tempted. It doesn’t look much but in real life, with all the shop lights, shiny and clean it looked mint. I’ve not had a G-Shock since my Mudman G9000 fell to bits but I literally wore that every day for 10+ years.

I don’t neeeeeed another watch……But if this comes down in the post Christmas sales, or I can grab one that was “an unwanted gift” I might be tempted. On an orange NATO would look purdy I finks.

Yeah prices here for a service + parts will be high, but prices of 2nd hand machines as mentioned are good. People here spend money then never use the bloody things so there’s a few minty looking ones. The guys gonna have a look after Christmas anyways.

There’s a few locally on gumtree little used / stickers on for around 450 (240GBP) so I’ll see if mine can be fixed and if it’s going to look expensive then i’ll pick up a magnifica s 2nd hand

New Spinnaker watch about to launch. Called the Amalfi. 46mm watch, Sapphire, c3 superluminova, 24mm lug width. 4 colours… Teal looks lovely. Orange had a Sumo vibe to it. Early sign up gets you 25% off. Says Japanese movement so I’m guessing Miyota

I like it. Piqued my interest as I got married and honeymooned in Amalfi. I’m just not sure about a 46mm watch with my skinny wrists. Might take a punt with 25% off though.

Most weeks there’s a King Shiloh / Bredda Neil reggae n roots show in Redlight Radio streamed from Facebook. It’s usually a Weds evening here in Oz so no idea what time it’s on in UK but you can restream old shows an ting.

I found this the other day and I like it. There. I said it. It’s kind of a “sing some cliched reggae vocals” kinda track but the more I listen, the more I like it’s cheese-pop-reggae sound.

Oh and if anyone is in Western Australia, the local reggae show, Jamdown Vershun, which has been going for 40 years, has a party on in Freo from 5pm til late. Big @ass sound system, djs and bands. Oh and it’s nudging 40c here too…

As above one of the main advantages of a NATO strap, apart from being so comfy is if a spring bar goes you don’t lose your watch

Also a disadvantage of NATO’s is they can make big watches a bit floppy and bouncy as they dont sit as close to the wrist as a “normal” strap or bracelet.

    That Pantor is pretty.

If you’re quick you might still be able to pre-order a Helm Vanuatu – still up for grabs on the site, albeit with a production wait time, but if you fancy a new watch in May 2020, have a look. Most well-built tooly under 300 USD – amazing engineer strap, plus a nato thrown in. Possibly the best lume on a watch under $500. If not THE best…. I’m tempted, I just cba to wait until May for a new watch.

San Martin mas62 is very tempting, and something like 280usd on the aliexpress 11//11 sale delivered……

If your case manager goes on leave, someone (should) be managing his/her caseload while away.

How many different anti-psychotics is he on? For us, three failed attempts to manage someone on medication we’d be considering Clozapine which for psych meds is considered gold standard.

Also I’m assuming the lad’s on tablets? Would you consider a depot injection (could be 2 weeks, 4 weeks, there’s even one that can be given every three months). The benefit is no missed doses. No temptation to take more than prescribed. Fairly consistent, slow release of medication until the next dose is given.

I love the ones who sit at a junction, watch you approaching then pull out ever-so-slowly so they will definitely hit you, while still watching you ride towards the driver’s door. That’s real nice that is. Love a twitchy-bum moment. Best way to start a day. Said no-one ever.

There are no double blind placebo controlled randomised trials and the legal strength of CBD in this country is not consider pharmacological. I’ll leave you to draw your own conclusions.

There are studies, they’re just thin on the ground if you want British based reports. It is pharmaceutical – look at Nabilone or Sativex. There is evidence that suggests THC, CBD or a combination of both *can* help with *some* symptoms of people’s illnesses. Sounds like your conclusions are already drawn though? Google NICE guidelines for CBD.
