  • Interesting….

Having had situations where management have tried to take accounts off me (which I had grown year on year to Tier 1) to “derisk” in case I left (yes I know, how stupid! How about make sure I don’t want to leave), I have always fought hard, made good business case and retained them, then continued the growth. My gut feeling here…[Read more]

  • You need a set of these! Just bought a set last week and done my first ride in them – I suffer with really cold toes, even with Sealskinz etc, think it must be a circulation thing.

Stealth rubber sole and really good technical uppers – they don’t feel “hot” but I noticed the difference when I took them off.

    In terms of…[Read more]

  • I really like PVD – he’s done some awesome stuff, and I actually made use of one of his designs on my old bike (the Scott headset adapter cups).

He’s a maverick like Chris Porter, who pushes the boundaries that we need pushing to find the limits, then with a bit of Yank brashness (which mostly seems to upset typically self effacing Brits more…[Read more]

  • Been riding since 92, so many exciting periods but for me, the best is the time since the growth of Enduro.

I first went to race an Italian Superenduro (series final in Finale) in 2011 after seeing something online about a new discipline – and was instantly blown away. I remember (much akin to Northwind’s post) telling the lad back home that…[Read more]

  • Looks about right. I put all my details in, and it recommended me a spring 15lb lighter than the TFTuned one does, which obviously doesn’t account for different shock brands. The TFTuned one gave the same recommendation as the MRP one, so I’m confident as I can be that the ohlins one is about right too.

    Gusset S2 is fantastic.

    ^^^^ Slackalice absolutely nails this.

There’s got to be a sensible middle ground somewhere that supports those in need but also rewards and encourages growth, aspiration and creating concentric circles of wealth sharing/caring.

As we’ve seen, the current polarisation is toxic to it’s core and nobody wins. Time for a pragmatic, sensible approach…[Read more]

It feels a little like this GE was the point to which Momentum and their dangerous identity politics game of division came utterly crashing down around their heads, problem is they’re so arrogant and deluded they can’t reflect on that and have taken to continuing to insult the voting populace, seems they like to partake in political sel…

I haven’t read the whole thread, but has anyone suggested distancing from Momentum and their batshit brand of socialism?

Yep. I did earlier. And it’s not just what they suggest, it’s the aggression and condescending way that they engage too. Our local momentum activists were vicious in their attacking anyone on local community pages who dares e…[Read more]

I think they need to look seriously at kicking momentum into touch.

If the local activists in my area are anything to go by, no wonder the “traditional” supporters left. I’ve seen constant, vocal, aggressive and condescending attacks on anyone who dared question anything about labour or JC, continual repetition of “you’re all idiots/nazis/selfish…[Read more]

  • andyrm replied to the topic Back to coil in the forum Bike Forum 2 months ago

Coil front and rear on my Stumpy Evo and honestly couldn’t go back now. Rode a friend’s Stumpy Evo back to back with mine a couple of weeks ago, he’s still on the standard Fox air both ends and it’s nowhere near as stable or composed feeling. Thing I notice most is the speed of response to small stutter bumps, roots etc.

  • andyrm replied to the topic Coil Fork Options in the forum Bike Forum 2 months ago

I had a 36 air which I’ve converted to coil as it was very stictiony which got worse when it got cold (I’m about 11st)

That’s exactly what I found with mine too – and it needed lots of tlc to keep it running nicely.

Andyrm, what spring are you running? What about settings and ride style?

    I’m running a M spring in a 160mm 29er on a mul…[Read more]

I’m a year in on a Ribbon Coil. Can’t recommend it enough, having come off a 36RC2.

I’m 77kg and it’s stiff enough for me, but big thing is the ridiculously supple travel and way better midstroke.

  • andyrm replied to the topic Mullet bikes yay or nay? in the forum Bike Forum 3 months ago

I mulleted my 27.5″ Stumpy Evo as part of ongoing mods (160/160, coil front and rear) and it’s been a revelation. BB is now at a workable height but still low.

I’ve found it needs much more muscling to get a turn initiated but once turning, absolutely rails. Gone is the understeer tendency in favour of slight oversteer.

    Definitely worth giving…[Read more]

Another vote for Ally at Ride It – just got some new kit through including the DWR shorts. This is my 3rd or 4th order with them and never been anything but impressed 👍👍👍

  • Silkolene RG2 has been my go to for years for fork and shock internals. Thin like Slick Honey but very, very slippery.

Cheap too as no “bike tax”……

  • I’ve got friends and family on both sides of the fence, and it’s made not one bit of difference to our relationships. Maybe it’s the fact that my career NEEDS me to ask questions, try and understand thinking and rationale and then use the classic “pace pace lead” to create change in attitude, so I’m used to not trying to tell someone they are…[Read more]

  • andyrm replied to the topic 2019 General Election in the forum Chat Forum 4 months ago

Fully agree their dazh – but the issue from where I see it, is that under corbyn, labour has stopped being the party for workers, and become the party for ideological middle class “dinner party socialists” rather than representing the grafters that have been their traditional power base.

There seems to be a lack of pragmatism in favour of…[Read more]

As long as the Labour party remains pure we will just have to put up with an eternal Tory government.

Evolve you stupid **** ,your job is to beat the Tories by any means necessary.

    Couldn’t agree with you more!

Do they want to be a permanent opposition that appeals to a diminished crowd with shrinking influence, or actually make a difference?
