Nukeproof Digger Gets Shimano GRX For 2020

by 0

What “started during an intoxicated conversation some years ago”, the Nukeproof Digger ended up as a cult product in Nukeproof’s range. And for 2020 it’s getting Shimano’s dedicated GRX gravel groupset

The Nukeproof Digger was originally intended as a low-numbers winter training bike for Nukeproof’s sponsored riders, but it has proved to be a bit of a sleeper hit with mountain bikers seeking a bit of drop bar fun. And being from a pure mountain bike brand, rather than a road brand, the Nukeproof Digger manages to get over a bit more of a punk rock persona.

The £1999 Pro gets GRX, DT Swiss wheels and a dropper post

New for 2020 is the addition of the latest gravel dedicated Shimano GRX 1x group set. Specced for simplicity and off-road performance with Shimano’s clutch derailleur 1x 11 speed set up (11-42T) drivetrain. The new Factory Digger also integrates its dropper post actuation in the ‘unused’ left hand Shimano brake lever to offer ultimate confidence when it gets technical on the trails. The Digger is even equipped with a “wider than average” drop handlebar for that mountain bike stance.

Both 2020 Comp and Factory models will come with WTB Sendero’s 650b Road Plus tyres where the latter also gets upgraded with DT Swiss G1800 Gravel wheels.

The bike will be in stock about… now, with the Digger Comp costing £1499 and the Pro coming in at £1999. More details at nukeproof.com
