PEdAL ED Kyoto Gravel Shorts
Founded in Japan and crafted in Italy, the PEdAL ED brand of cycling apparel very tastefully combines the aesthetics of Japanese and Italian fashion and delivers some extremely attractive kit for on- and off-road riding. Additionally, the company also produces some cycling-friendly casual apparel and a line of bike packing bags with a very cool denim style.
A few months ago, the Kyoto gravel shorts came across our gritty radar, and I immediately had at least three contributors offering their services to test these shorts. While we’re still awaiting a pair for review, I did get some hands-on time with them last week.
Specifically made for gravel riding, and not re-purposed mountain bike shorts, the Kyoto shorts are more slim-fitting than your typical mountain bike shorts. They wick moisture away from the body, offer quite a bit of flexibility and sport an elastic waistband with a boarder short-style drawstring. Designed to fit over padded bib shorts, the Kyoto features side pockets, as well as a rear zip pocket.
