Back after a two year break Tide to Tide is a unique endurance off-road event being staged on Saturday 1st October at Pembrey Country Park in South Wales. Billed as suitable for all types of bikes Tide to Tide offers something a little different for the off-road, dropped barred, racing fraternity.
Those in the know will be familiar with this part of the world, Pembrey being home to the infamous Battle on the Beach held earlier in the year. Tide to Tide uses the same dramatic sections of the Cefn Sidan beach with a testing 7km lap comprising approximately 50% singletrack, 30% doubletrack / forest roads and 20% on the expansive beach.
Starting mid-afternoon solo or relay teams (pairs or trios) will race over 6 hours with the final laps being thrashing out in the dark as the tide invades the sand. There’s a supporting programme of kids races before the main event and for those fancying a full on weekend of ‘cross action Round 3 of the Welsh Cyclocross Series takes place the day after in the Country Park.
Entry opens for the limited spaces on 1st June, £35 for solo riders, £55 for pairs and £75 for trios, and weekend packages are available with camping and entry to the Welsh CX series on the Sunday.
