Now how about you add some cyclocross racing into the mix – the wintery mix? And maybe you want to actually race your cyclocross bike – Race it 202km over the span of three days? Well, then…the aptly-named Tortour race is just the thing for you.
The Tortour Cyclocross is billing itself as the world’s first multi-day cyclocross stage race. Competitors will start and finish in the town of Schaffhausen, and will tackle over 3000 meters of elevation, across ‘demanding terrain.’

“The course leads through woodland, crosses meadows and fields, and includes very few stretches on tarmacked roads. Participants will also have to reckon with obstacles including steps and tree trunks lying across the track.”

The race starts on Friday, 12 February, and wraps up on Sunday, 14 February. Finishing that will be quite the Valentine’s Day gift, no?
