Croyde Ocean Beach Breaker beach bike race

Off to Devon for your summer hols? Get yourself along to Braunton Burrows on Sunday 12th July for the inaugural Croyde Ocean Beach Breaker beach race. The event is being aimed at fat bike riders but the organisers say that ‘cross bikes are welcome too – so if you can bear to get your pride n’joy covered in salt and sand, then there’s an opportunity to tackle the battle of the tyre sizes…

Bwaaaaaaaaaarp!

The race covers four laps of a 6km course, taking in hard tracks, grassy hillocks and sand dunes. We’re not sure quite how much climbing a ‘hillock’ entails, exactly, but it’s by the seaside so it can’t be that hilly, right? (Famous last words.) From the looks of the promo vid, there are plenty of opportunities to practice your skids and wheelies too – with a nice soft landing.
