    Hi fellow Zesty riders

Has anyone noticed serious cable rub in their chain stay bridge from the front mech cable?

Seen it on a couple 2011 models

Same on 2010 but you can just reroute or as I have a small piece of proptector in place. Was told that it wasnt an issues becasue the carbon there is just covering bottom bracket.

All i’d say is that everyone should check the routing and re-route as necassery

I didn’t check under the cable for 5 months and when i did there was a major gouge worn into the weld of the chainstay bridge. A good 5mm or 6mm deep in the middle

If left for any prolonged amount of time, i’d expect a failure

Also, if i was buying 2nd hand, then i’d steer well clear of one with such wear marks

    Cheers

Not noticed it on my 2011 Zesty (er…but I pretty well laminated the whole chainstay/BB with ‘copter tape when I got the bike) Mind you, my wife’s just bought a Zesty 214 in the sales, so I’ll check the cable runs and do some ‘copter taping.

    Cheers for the heads up.
