Ten years ago…Anthony Nolan Bone Marrow ride on the newly christened Flying Banana Dawes Toucan.

No bike has given more smiles per mile. The ice cream rides, fast down hills, school runs… 😀 Time passes…

Fast forward ten years to this afternoon, and the boys are clearing the new dropoffs at the bombhole at Swinley (aka Daddy’s nemesis). The keen eyed will recognise that Son1 is wearing my old shoes as his feet just keep growing 😳

And now it is time for the Flying Banana to move on. The old girl has had a wash and a service and looks resplendent.

She is off to Charlotte’s Tandems, where others can enjoy the ride. So you may still see her about Berkshire.

On a slightly related note, Son1 wants to get into Downhill. Where do I start? Other than a new bike, pads, and a helmet? He’s certainly got the skills absence of self-preservation.
