    Help.

Just put a new full XT drive chain on my Soul. 2×10. New cranks, BB, chain and cassette, mechs.

First ride up at 10 under the Ben, totally silent. Came home washed it and now it “clicks” mainly on the right crankarm.

Checked the frame (not cracked!). Removed the BB and cranks, checked chainrings were tight. greased everything and still creaks.

    Tried different pedals, still creaks.

The only thing I noticed is that the BB screwed in fairly easily, almost up to the hilt before the tool was required.

I’ve put on loads of drivechains before, so pretty sure everythings right.

    Any ideas? Duff BB?

could have written what you just wrote. Damn annoying. My suggestion would be to get hold of some PTFE tape (plumbers tape), a couple of wraps around the BB threads and install. also put a smear of grease around each face of the spacers.

This stopped my annoying click completely 🙂

Sure it’s the drivetrain? Not your knees?

Does it creak when pedaling in and out of the saddle?

Yes it does, so not the seatpost…although I greased that too!
