I’m looking to build a 1*9 setup on by bike. I use an old style internal bottom bracket so I can’t use the new external bottom bracket type that fit instead of one of the bearing spacers.
    Any recommendations?

You should still be able use a BB-mount guide. Depends on the exact arrangement of the flanges on your BB and on the guide. Will alter your chain-line a smidge, but you probably won’t even notice. Just watch the clearance on the non-drive-side crank arm.

If having your pedals “off-centre” would give you major princess-and-the-pea syndrome, you could always space your NDS pedal out with a washer the same thickness as the chain-guide flange.

the clamp on the superstar tube mount ones isn’t brilliant but they are well cheap.
