New bike has x7 rh shifter and x9 clutch rear mech. Old bike has xtr front and rear which I love and was going to swap, however I am being advised that the clutch is excellent and worth keeping.
Have to make decision as need to sell old bike, help!
Don’t get me started on whether to swap the formula c1’s for my old xt brakes!

You do realise that the SRAM shifter won’t work with your XTR mech? So you’ll need to change that too

Keep the clutch. It’s future proof. Well, for now anyway.

I have a clutch and while I lose the chain less often, I wouldn’t say that with a chain device that I lost my chain a worrying amount in the first place. It’s been about 4 years since I last rode with a front mech, but I don’t remember any issues then either.

They are good but not a massive improvement. All the reviews I’ve seen of the Sram clutch say it doesn’t work too well anyway.

Go XTR quality over Sram shoddiness, even with the added features.
