I’m working on a presentation at work and I need some new websites to showcase as being examples of sites that people love – they don’t need to be big, well known or even uber popular. They just need to be good in terms of the content that they offer you. Niche is very acceptable.

So, when you’ve had your fill of Facebook, this forum and the Daily Mail Online, where do you go and what do you look at?

I’m much more interested in the quality of the filling of any sites than how pretty they are. Content is king after all.

Many thanks for your help – I am in a web rut and will really appreciate your help getting out of it.

Okay, I’m a mod on there, but also spend lots of time just seeing what other people find…

In a language that I don’t understand, yet it is easy to understand and does what it is supposed to.
*top presentation tip, don’t over load the verbal presentation with pictures. Everyone will stop listening and start reading. Describe what makes a good site in preference to showing images*

http://m.ox.ac.uk/ and http://www.oxontime.com/ are both quite handy. I use the first link rather a lot and really like how, well, nice it is

could well get slated here, but started our business up, and our website has rec’d very good response from big businesses looking for ‘freshness’. We also have a US confectionery business asking if they can copy it 😯

    But we’re chuffed http://mixresearch.co.uk/

In terms of interesting content, hackaday.com has some good stuff if you like that sort of thing. A lot of similar sites are just really badly designed though. That’s what you get when hobbyists run things.

    oh, and try theoatmeal.com
