I’ve recently moved area and its a lot muddier than where I used to be. Currently running conti rubber queen ust front and back and love them but think it won’t cut it on the front for the mud here so thinking about changing just the front. Got to be ust.

    Any suggestions???

I know narrow cut better but is there anything wider than a 2.0/2.1? a 2.2/2.25 would suit me. There seems to be a gap as there are plenty of ‘free ride’ mud tyres at 2.5 etc… Sorry to pinch ya post graeme87.

Maxxis Swampthings 2.3? Awesome grip, awesomely draggy, and not too heavy.

Just got some medusas in 2.1 for the hardtail. Low volume but work really well.

I know what u mean. The rubber queens I run are 2.2 so something around that size. Is the Barron any use in the mud?

The Rubber Queens are surprisingly good in mud if you drop your pressures enough.

Baron is brilliant in the mud (lots of threads about this just now!). But the main thing is, it’s better when in not-mud than other mud tyres. But, the UST one is unobtainable usually- might see some this year apparently.

Rubber queen can work well, depends on your mud really, I found them hopelessly cloggy on my local trails but they worked better elsewhere.

    Cheers for that @northwind

I run a Baron on the front with a Specialized storm on the rear. Best mud set up I’ve tried.

Might look into a Barron for the winter months.

Another vote for specialized storms here.

Control version instead of the s-works ones.

Often paired with a purgatory up front.

Get a maxxis wet scream while they are still making them.
