I have not done any wild camping for at least 7 years, now I want to get back to it and squeeze some trips in this year.

My nephew is also showing an interest. I am based in Shrewsbury and looking for an easy (and close) wild camp spot/location to take my nephew with me.

I was thinking of a 10mile max round trip to somewhere as he will be carrying his own gear/pack.

Does anyone have any suggestions for a camp spot/area please?

Email is in profile if you do not wish to share the info publicly, thanks 🙂

My first thought were these places, but I could do with something higher.

Just been reading a blog on wild camping near Caer Caradoc, interesting

I dont mind driving 1 to 1.5 hours, which will give me a wider choice. 🙂

When I was up college that way we decamped to Pontsford Hill after suffering a power cut! Bloody windy it were.

90 minutes will see you into North Wales, the Nameless Cwm is a good spot.

    Cheers,
    Jamie
