anyone running fat tyres with skinny rims?

got the girl friends bike and want to run something with a bit of grip and snakebite protection, not the 2.1 Mountain Kings currently on there (how do conti classify a mountain?)

2.4 RR's on olympics were OK at firm pressures (not measured it tho)

Personally, I really don't like the feel. 2.35" on a 317 feels to me like it's about to roll off. That's why I use a flow rim, wider, feels more stable and gives a better footprint. Plus it makes most 2.1" feel like a 2.2/2.3"

just got back in. very wet ride so can't really say too much.

you do get more tyre roll (tyre hanging off the rim) but i can run a higher pressure but still have lots of cushioning.

the main thing, i didn't die. which is good.
