    ..but not when it is dry? I would have thought that a few revolutions of the rotor when it is being squeezed by the pad would dry it off in any case. It doesn’t seem to take much moisture to start some setups catawauling like mad.

    vibration causes the squeal.
    moisture between the pad and disc cause more vibration.
