He’s mostly been ferrying bottles in the early parts of each stage. Check this… the current World Champion, previous green jersey holder and cycling superstar ferrying bottles.

Well unless he’s in line for sprint finishes he’s not really much use other than that so if he IS a team player, best he uses his energy to help the team. Kudos to him though. That said, pretty sure I saw Cancellara taking bottles for team mates after a visit to the team car on an early stage.
