Been nipping in and out every now and again to keep an eye on this, I have to admit that the female half of the crew being so easy on the eye makes it a lot more watchable but on the whole it’s the stunning scenery and the dream of just giving it all up and sailing off into the blue, as they did.

They’ve done so well on YouTube that a French manufacturer has only given them a catamaran to continue their adventures.

    Here’s their website: http://sailing-lavagabonde.com/

If I ever end up long-term in a hospital bed I think I’ll pass the time by watching the entire 137 or whatever episodes from end to end, probably accompanied by some fidgeting under the sheets and a box of Kleenex.

I’ve seen a few of their videos. They were ok. I can’t get my head around the fact that 1594 people give them enough money on Patreon that they earn $9.5k a video. They are now looking for enough donations to make $20k per video. They do a video a week by looks of it. Bonkers.

Nah, kinda been there done that, met plenty of folks and ate at owners expense.

You should try it sometime, I reckon when I retire I might just get back into deliveries again.

Those Patreon videos aren’t about Hamble boys going round the cans. It’s more about chicks in bikinis and south sea islands, with Comic Book Guy persuading himself he’s looking at the white sand beaches while he’s pausing the bikini shots. The original intention was to make a few quid to keep going, but one or two of them have made serious money.

My own sailing experience is limited to an uncomfortable week touring the Sound of Jura in a rather wet Bayraider, wishing I was on a bigger boat but my buddy is about to buy a lightly-used 40′ aluminium lifting-keel yacht so it looks as if I might end up doing some more Hebridean cruises in future years.

Neither of us would look good in a bikini though.

Stopped watching it once they got the CAT… too commercialised and slick now.

Look up ‘Sampson boat Co’ on YouTube. It’s not been going that long and it’s an English lad in America renovating a 100 year old boat from scratch..

    Very interesting.

The only youtube channel I have ever donated too was one called ‘Keep Turning Left’. Produced by a retired BBC cameraman over the last few years as he attempted to circumnavigate all the waterways and estuaries of the uk anti-clockwise.. hence the name.

Some of his videos are an absolute delight. Unfortunately he cracked up when Trump got elected and started producing these bizarre political rants instead.. He lost a large amount of his subscribers and now resides himself to poking about his local river on a little rowing boat.. Sad really as his videos were in my opinion some of the best produced vids on youtube.
