Aberlour for £16.99 in Sainsburys looks good to me.

Its ‘whisky’ if you’re talking about Scotch btw 😉

    Caol Ila is utterly superb.

These folk will sort you out with all sorts of wonderfulness:

It’s my most favouritest whisky shop ever… make a point of dropping in every time I am “passing” (by which I mean every time I am within about an hourish diversion to the place).

Whiskey with the *e* is where it’s at for the 2009 season. I can strongley recommend “Tullamore Dew” as a fine example of an Irish Whiskey.

Highland Park 12yr @ £19 in Morrissons if you live up north. Nice combination of most of the single malty type flavours. Lovely stuff 😮

Laphroaig for me. Wonderful tasting whisky. Talisker after that.

Laphroaig is my favourite but it is a whisky that the majority of people seem to hate.

    1) Ardbeg
    2) Laphroaig

but at the moment I’m drinking a lovey 12 yr malt called Auchentoshan which is beautifully smooth.

Penderyn is gopping stuff, don’t do it! Nearly bought some when I was studying in Wales, but a dram was plenty!

Anything from Islay, obviously anything from Orkney (Highland Park is good, the 12 yo is a very good and older ones better to some extent… I am prefering Scapa these days though)… or Talisker… or anything Highland (Clynlish is worth a try for example, as is Old Pultney)

Talisker 18 year old. Not cheap but well worth it. It’s a beauty.

Lagavulin 16 year old – Caol Ila 16 year old.

or for something a wee bit different how’s about one of the snazzy Glenmorangie’s Lasanta (aged for last two years in sherry barrels) or even more decadent Glenmorangie Nectar D’Or (aged for last two years in Sauternes-french dessert wine – barrels)

I am enjoying a Lasanta as I type. Mmmmmmmm. 😉

    1/4 cask .. hmmm… not what i’d call smooth..

Lagavulin 16 y/o distillers edition, now that is wonderful stuff. I shall be treating myself to a bottle of that at the end of the month pending things go well!
