My altimeter reading was 1650m of climbing by the end

So, nearly as much as the last day of the Trans Wales last year then?
    🙄

Imagine doing the same, 7 days in a row….
    🙂

How long did your last day take PP, and over what distance?

looking back it was a fantastic day, although i didn’t think so at the finish! i did it in 5hr 20min and i was happy with that. Did my samaratin bit when a girl fell off right in front of me, she was a bit upset but i think it was just the shock of coming off.

i spat my dummy out when going round about the distance but none of that matters now lol, can’t believe the speed of the winners! 3hr 5 mins!

Roll on next year! (a lot more fittness required!)

Last day was a long ‘un. From the event website –

    Linking Stage Seven
    Strata Florida to Builth Wells
    Total distance: 84km
    Climbing: 2500m
    6-7 hours riding, IIRC

Most days were 1800-2000m of climbing. I ate everything I could possibly get down my neck and lost 1/2 stone in a week.

Tony – was good to see you and some of the other West Yorkshire STW boys.

Was a hard course – full credit to the organisers, it held up well to a lot of riders and was very testing. Minor grumble that it didn’t cover more of the actual Altura North and South loops, but I guess it is really difficult trying to juggle interesting trail with enough passing places for 400 people.

Can cope with fireroad climbs, fireroad and road descents are a little bit sole destroying though.

Good atmosphere, excellent marshalling and top weather. Thanks to those who put in the effort to organise.

I did it in 5.37 taking it nice and careful. Good to meet The Littlest Hobo on the first climb. Brilliant event and great views. 🙂

I was on a blue/grey trance with white bombers. How are your legs? Mine have recovered OK…
