  • Which jeans for chunky leg/arse man??

A bit random, but I guess there must be others who have trouble finding jeans that fit. Last time I tried on about 20 pairs before I found a pair that just fitted. I would have bought a few pair but they were a bit pricey.

Anyway I seem to have a normal 30 ish inch waist, 32 length in the leg but quads that will got even squeeze into most 32 inch waist jeans, and if I do get them on, movement is out of the question.

Does anyone know a brand/type that might fit me???

    Cheers

+1 for Gap, also found some Debenhams own brand ones (think they were Mantaray) that had a very similar cut.

Cheers, I will try some of those. I think I tried some Gap with no joy but I can not be sure they were the loose ones.

Oh and the ones that I got were Gant, they are pretty loose in the waste but still look good, and I just about move freely in them. But £90! FFS

I have a similar problem, 34s fit around the waist but too-tight around the thigh, 36s fit the thigh but are far too loose around waist.

Two brands I’ve found that fit are Gap (boot cut or low rise) and Fat Face. Tried literally every cut of Levi’s in the store (apart from the stupid skinny ones), even the ones that cost £££, with no luck.

I’ve worn nothing but Hugo Boss Orange and Black jeans for the past few years – I’m 32/34 waist and 34 leg with “cyclist thighs” aka drumsticks.

I spent 3hrs in the Trafford Centre last night and can report back with the following…

Diesel – nothing in their range has enough thigh room.
Reiss – Don’t even think about it. Their 34″ waist needed another 4-5″ to stand any chance of buttoning.
French Connection – Some options but you’ll end up looking like Henry out of Wrong Direction… Cheaper.
Firetrap – Again, some options but a bit over-styled for my liking
All Saints – You’ll need butter and a pair of tyre levers to get in there cigarette-cut or “iggy” straight leg styles. If you try the tapered styled, you’ll look like you’re wearing Dickensian jodhpurs.
G-Star – great if you like your crotch round your knees.
Next – Cheap, bland, they fit…

So, in summary, go to Hugo Boss, pay your money and get a pair that fit and last and look good.

Fox are good. Designed for MTB/BMX/MX riders with “proper” size legs rather than the chicken legs that is more common in your regular non-exercising wasteman in the UK.

Best fit I’ve found recently are Pierre Cardin jeans – £20 a pair in TX Maxx

Both from their lifestyle range as opposemto their work related names

Bit more expensive than the work wear veraioms but Denim is thicker and last longer than any jeans ive had before and cut is nicer

I actually got quite angry with the sales assistant – why the hell label a pair of jeans as 34″ waist when Iggy Pop would struggle to get in them??

He said “it’s just the the fit…”

“NO YOU MORON!!!” I shouted, “It’s a f*****g measurement, as defined in the Weights & Measures Act of 1985!!!”

Then I ordered him to get a tape measure… He didn’t have a tape measure. I was asked to leave the store when I tried to grab his thumb so we could measure it.

(I was getting a bid pissed off by this stage of the evening…)

This can work out a little expensive but you get to ride some great trails while you’re there and fritter away a few days in a casino to boot. Book a holiday to Vegas and head for one of the outlet malls. I’ve got more thigh and arse than most ladies football teams and found plenty to fit in the outfitters aimed at the outsized gentleman.

I bought Oakley jeans at $10 a pair and some gap ones at about $20 a pair. The Oakley outlet was amazingly cheap. I went in looking for new lenses for my old race jackets but ended up buying 2 pairs of jeans, 2 t-shirts, a full set of new race jackets and a few odds and ends for less than £100.

Having recently gone through the same shopping purgatory and struggled even with those jeans which others have said are more generous in the thigh (Fat Face, Gap, G Star – all failed for me) I came across a shop which proved to be a Godsend. So for those within shopping distance of the capital I recommend you get to Interstate in Covent Garden.

I found several possibilities there including Edwins and Carharrt but plumped for a pair of Dunderdons. They are a Swedish brand which I’d never heard of before, but their P4 cut works a treat for me.

What about those stretchy things that pregnant/Americans wear?

That way you get to continue pigging out with no issue of clothes still fitting.

I’m very familiar with the jeans issue too!

So far GAP ones fit well and I’ve found Timberland ones work too. I get them cheap(er) from the outlet at Gunwharf Quay in Portsmouth.

Large thighed 36″ waister here. I usually find what I’m looking for in Next or more recently a couple of pairs of Firetrap fitted nicely from M&M Direct.
Levi’s? Staff must have had a right good giggle when they seen my thighs crossing their doorway…….

I get my Edwin’s from there, mainly because they do them in 29in waist which are hard to get and the service is spot on, they stock the whole range too.

I’ve got a similar problem. Best solution is to add the £13 it costs for jeans to be taken in by a quality alterations place. Buy ones that fit legs/bum and then get the waist sorted.
