  • Which 9 speed rear mech for 36 tooth sprocket.

    I need a 9 speed rear mech for my 3 peaks bike. It needs to accomodate a 36 tooth rear sprocket. I have a Deore one here that doesn’t work (I’m guessing it’s a mid cage).

    I have a 10 speed DynaSis one which clears the rear sprocket, but is a different cable pull to my STI levers.

    Pretty sure it needs to be a non-shadow, 9 speed SGS

    My medium cage clears 34t (85mm cage) the long cage (100mm) SGS should clear 36t i would have thought

    SLX or XT 9 speed Shadow mechs are all rated to a 36T biggest sprocket. The cage length doesn’t affect that, the cage length changes the capacity of the mech only. Long cage gives you a capacity of 45T and medium cage gives you 35T.
