Actually I used the wrong words, Ban, is a bit harsh Veganthrobber should be moderated 🤣

Do you know how sad you look, calling for someone to be removed cos you don’t like what they say?

Ok then. Someone please point me to proof of the existence of pathogenic viruses.

This is just parody now right? The study of pathogenic viruses predates big pharma by a few hundred (thousand?) years. Unless history is another fake.

I like free speech. I like hearing people say stuff I disagree with because it makes me go back and examine my own beliefs and sources.

People just floating ignorant and fake opinion to either feel important or just for shits and giggles, I’d happily stick them in a room with one of these non existent pathogenic viruses and only go back in to see if they’ve changed their mind just before they drawn from the resultant fluids in their own lungs.

I don’t think I’ve ever seen so many non-sequiturs in my life. Maybe in the Guardian comments.

No one is calling for you to be banned because of what you claim to believe, its because of the snide, insulting tone you use, while failing to back up anything with any sort of credible evidence.

This tangent started because a couple of folk started a nonsensical line about how lockdowns were coming back as part of some “big plan”. Even when an expert in the field explains why that’s highly unlikely, you’ve still kept spouting nonsense in a “look at me, ban me cos I’m edgy” sort of way.

Do you know how sad YOU look?

Dude. Show me the proof. Don’t just get abusive. That’s the response of the ignorant and liars. The truth does not fear being challenged unlike you.

This. Very much this. In fact dialogue has been encouraged by engaging, yet despite time & again being asked for alternative credible ideas none have been forthcoming.

Still, its breaking up my Friday afternoon quite nicely.

There’s plenty of evidence out there as you full well know. Where’s yours to the opposite?

The burden of proof is on you, if you’re claiming something exists. Not me. You’re saying there’s a deadly disease and we must destroy lives to protect against it? So show me real proof before you destroy my life. There is none. Only government-backed pseudo science.

    You’re right, it doesn’t.

Given that the accepted truth appears to be the big pharma/accepted science angle, how about you point to some proof for your argument.

And I wasn’t bring abusive. You said there was no such thing as a pathogenic virus. So I challenged you to get locked in a room with one of these things you say don’t exist, as a “winner takes all” test of truth.

You are certain of your facts and knowledge, aren’t you?

If I came across snide it was only in retaliation to someone else’s response to my original, non-snide post. Mind you, banishing people for their ‘tone’ is a bit insecure of you.

I have not called for anyone’s removal.

You’re saying there’s a deadly disease and we must destroy lives to protect against it?

No one has suggested this for months if not years now. Freedoms aren’t restricted any more, even for those who aren’t vaccinated. No ones lives are being destroyed.

What point are you trying to prove here? The thing that isn’t happening isn’t necessary?

It’s really not. You’ve that the wrong way round. You’ve stated that the accepted theory is wrong – the burden falls squarely on YOU. You’ve made the accusation so it’s up to you to prove it.

I don’t need to prove pathogenic viruses don’t exist, you need to prove they do. It’s never been done. How can I provide you evidence for that? The only way is for you to provide me with evidence they DO exist.

I’m thinking ‘Naturopath’, but he might just be an enthusiastic amateur.

I don’t need to prove pathogenic viruses don’t exist, you need to prove they do.

By suggesting that you believe that pathogens do not exist, you are implying that human/animal disease has a different cause. We would welcome an expansion on your theory, and obviously some actual evidence.*

*Do Your Own Research is not an acceptable answer.

Oh so NOW you’re not destroying lives (not true btw). How convenient for you. People like me will not rest until the perpetrators are brought to justice. Get used to it.

What’s your plan for if, heaven forbid, you fell off your bike/were hit by a car/had some other accident?

You think he ever leaves his mum’s bedroom for such a incident to happen?

The biggest risk to vegan rider’s health is succumbing to a horrific masterbation related injury from all that jerking off he undoubtedly does…

I asked because I wanted to know the sort of job it was that a complete layman, with zero experience whatsoever, could be better at than someone with years of training and education around, as you claim for doctors.

    So?

I’ve already told you how – get locked in a room with one of these imaginary pathogenic viruses, and then we’ll know.

Challange accepted, let’s crowdfund a scientific discovery trip for veganrider to an Ebola treatment hospital in Burundi, Uganda, you’ve got a 50/50 chance of returning home to tell us we were correct.

This were it gets interesting, it is hard to believe that an extreme covid conspiracy theorist restricts their conspiracy theory to just covid.

Pretty much everything is a conspiracy. And it becomes so off the wall and extreme that there comes a point where there is no limit. I am not in the least bit surprised that there are conspiracy theories that conspiracy theorists are conspiracies.

Perhaps veganrider is a conspiracy to create conspiracy theories to undermine conspiracy theorists.

It’s an interesting subject but not really for this thread.

At a loss here. The virus of interest and closely related SARS-CoV-1 have been isolated, imaged by microscopy, genotyped to understand the replication machinery, modified by pharmacology to prevent replication (hello nirmatrelvir) in vitro and in animals including humans, neutralized by antibodies including those produced by innoculatng humans with a piece of the machinery and the surface proteins, and tested to fulfil Koch’s postulates to show that the virus is the aetiological agent of disease.

Some lovely images of the virus in this Nature paper – about 20 spikes per virion if you are interested and should be open access. https://www.nature.com/articles/s41586-020-2665-2

Do you denigrate other scientific endeavors, or is it just microbiology that you dislike?

Is is Alan from accounts, Clive from HR, Maureen from the WI, Big Baz who owns the chippy in the middle of town?

Never mind that word salad. The only acceptable proof formats are rambling hour-long Youtube videos and pamphlets from my local organic deli. 🙂

    At a loss here.

Not worth the energy, I dropped most of my mates in 2019 after years of insane conspiracy theories that started off as amusing 15 odd years ago such as Paul McCartneys dead, we didn’t go to the moon, flat earth etc but they soon turned nasty such as Jewish bankers rule the world, vaccine nonsense, Michelle Obama is a man, Globalists control us, chemtrails, 911 was inside job as was London bombings to some I don’t really wish to repeat.  Last I heard was one ex-mates elderly mum with emphysema (nice quiet woman whom I got on with) who didn’t take the first Pfizer vaccine caught covid late 2020 and died in hospital, his dad was admitted at the same time for covid and colloidal silver poisoning (my ex mate swore by the stuff) but recovered.

I find the science far more satisfying. I thought that even the most adamant COVID denying have accepted that the virus exists. Anyway, here it is in all its glory, even down to the spike proteins you can see on the surface – about 20/virus particle. They are about 80 nm across – so 12,500 lined up would be one millimeter. The mumbo jumbo on the LHS is the constituent proteins – Spike being the famous one, and kDA is weight in 1000’s – Carbon is 12, water (H2O) is 18, spike protein is about 32,000.

I’d hoped that like on those spy films, the resolution would just stay the same. But it would appear not to be the case – so I think MORE photoshopping is needed. To be honest I was surprised that there were so few spikes. An antibody is about the same length as the spike (10 nm), so you need a few to cluster around the virion to neutralize properly.

And there’s more. If you look at velcro hooks under a microscope, they look like filoviruses. What are they not telling us?

    So, more down to earth.
COVID symptoms started 7 days ago (Friday), negative Lateral flow on the Saturday. Tested positive on the Sunday.

According to NHS guidance, I’m good to go to the pub tonight if I feel ok.

Lateral flow still shows a faint line. Am I still infectious?

OH tested positive shortly after me. She’s probably six months out from getting over Long COVID and obviously more than a little worried.
