  • Where to buy pet/cat food in bulk and have it delivered?

I am fed up having to nip to Tescos to buy cat food when we run out, where I inevitably spend money on other stuff I don’t need.

Does anyone get their pet food in bulk, delivered on a monthly basis?

I don’t want to have to think about it anymore, and before you say it, the cats are staying, and I am not “owning them with a set of bombers”

They prefer the wet cat food, pouches, so I want a bulk buy of those if possible.

Felix/Aldi/Lidl food makes them sick, they like whiskas and Tescos

I buy it in bulk from Pets At Home, had 7x7kg bags of whiskers delivered a while back – lasts months even with four cats..

Online we use Zooplus, Pet Drugs Online or Pets at Home.

In store we use Pets at Home (mainly this as the OH is an in store vet and gets discount).

Hopefully going to a pet store will stop you buying stuff for yourself you don’t need, unless you are partial to a Bonio.

We’ve had 15kg bags of dog food off amazon in the past. Normally they stick an address label on the bag, but a couple of times they insisted in putting it in a massive cardboard box – such a waste of packaging.
Now we’ve found a local pet store that sells it for the same price and we can just nip and pick it up.

Amazon – there’s often 10-20% off vouchers applicable to subscribe & save (use, cancel, repeat)

4 cats, yep stopped of for 2 x 40 sachet boxes last night. We have a B&M on the commute home and I tend to stock up on cat litter and pet food as it’s cheaper than the local supermarket.

Zooplus or Bitiba which is the same thing but often slightly cheaper. We’ve got six so they won’t all eat the same thing but the Bozita chunks in tetrapaks have been going down well recently, and it’s much better quality than the high street junk, no grain and higher meat content, it works out about the same price as sachets.

Now I understand cats can be fussy and was even told that cat food wasn’t as crap as you’d expect (worked for a canning company), but why would you choose to use those fricken pouches? Tins are hugely recyclable, unlike those pouches (which can be done but by specialists, not via your recycle bin), stop supporting them!

Put food down for cat, if it’s doesn’t eat, you cover it up and present it again later. They soon figure out they’re not that fussy an eater (do you think whole mice taste great?). We’ve had cats all my life, and never had a cat dictate what food they eat (unless ill). You will still find packs of cans hidden away on the supermarket isles, and 6 tins last quite a while.

Also used Amazon in the past with success but definitely echo other comments that cat will change its mind about the food it likes the moment you place a big order…

Zooplus. Especially good if you want to feed them better quality food than Whiska’s and the like. They do a lot of single source protein, not packed out with cereals etc,.

We use Zooplus, Vetuk, Viovet (handy as I can collect from their warehouse if I need it in a hurry), Amazon or anyone else that can do free postage. Costco also do mega packs (the reason we originally joined) but that would really test your “spend money on other stuff I don’t need” willpower.

Amazon as per other posters but use subscribe and save on 5 items and get 15% discount.

I’ve put boring stuff (mouthwash kitchen towels , underarm deodorant) on it to get 5 items to get the full discount.

Another zooplus user here. Waitrose Pet also surprisingly good value on some stuff.

Most of my family use Tails for their pets.
    Seem happy with it.
