Johnny Cash’s ‘new album’ – out among the stars. Some nice stuff on there, although I prefer his earlier more folky stuff in general.

Reason – not sure why, but weird for a 26 year old, but I love Johhny Cash, don’t listen to much else……….

Creedence Clearwater Revival greatest hits. I was looking for a replacement for my vinyl of ‘Born on a Bayou’ whilst filling in time waiting for the kids but HMV only had that.

Some days you just need a good ole helping of Swamp Rock.

CD: Beastmilk – Climax, saw them supporting Doomriders on Monday and they were a nice surprise so picked up the album at the merch stand.

LP: Sick Of It All – Scratch the surface Record Store Day special on orange vinyl, one of the few SOIA albums I don’t have on 12″ so this seemed a good chance to pick it up.

10″ Machine Head – Killers & Kings ep – They cover an Ignite track, I don’t need more of a reason than that.

Went to a friends party last weekend and this guy was there:
    https://www.facebook.com/christyemusic

He’s raising funds via crowdsourcing to record his next album.

I’m no music expert, but if you like David Gray, I think you’ll like this guy so give him a listen.

Is that the double 12″ with the live version on the 2nd?

    Sweet isn’t it?

I now have 3 versions of the same album, a bit sad but what a disc!

The combination of having 6 music on all day, and having iTunes open is a seriously bank-balance threatening one! I download inordinate amounts of stuff. Last download was the new Jamie XX ep, because this is just lurverly….

Loads of good techno about at the mo Dez. Although Vibert is more Drexcyan acid funk electro.

If you like that Binbins (I do too) check out HTRK Psychic 9-5 Club.

    James for me:
Laid, Whiplash & Millionaires, on yer actual CDs, 3 for a fiver.
Got all the early stuff on vinyl, but not heard the later stuff until now.

I like it – not as quirky as the early stuff, but more consistently well written and some great tunes.

The most recent purchases, in no particular order, have been:
Elbow – The Take Off And Landing Of Everything
The Both – Eponymous (duo featuring the wonderful Aimee Mann, and Ted Leo)
    Eddi Reader -Vagabond
Kris Delmhorst – Blood Test (Kickstarter project to pay for marketing and promotion)
    Pixies -Indie Cindy
Everyone there I’ve seen live, except for Pixies, and I’ve already got everything else they’ve recorded.
Very latest one arrived Wednesday, which was bloody annoying, because Amazon delayed dispatch for two days, and I saw the band in Bristol on Tuesday, and missed getting it signed. The band are Arc Iris, formed by Josie Adams, formerly of The Low Anthem. Bloody brilliant, really diverse range of styles, country, jazz, indy, folk, almost impossible to categorise, just the way I like it.
Also on its way, the new album by Tori Amos, which I’m really looking forward to hearing, hopefully it’ll be here tomorrow.
