I’ve broken my Yeti frame, which as it was bought from a friend I cannot afford to replace like for like. Any ideas for a new trail frame that doesn’t cost the earth?

There’s a Big Top on eBay:

Keep the frame and sell the bits. I bloody love mine 🙂

Ah, yeah – “NEW” was underlined… but you can’t get Big Top’s new no more 😉

Carbon frames are a lot more repairable than you might think…

OP… The answer is nothing. Nada. Zilch

The world has moved on and sweet-as 26er XC-trail frames like that are just not made anymore.. 🙁

Get a new 160mm endurognarsledbolluxrig instead.

    ^ I’ve already got a

    endurognarsledbolluxrig

but I want something to cycle up mountains with.
The trouble with repairing it is that it also needs a proffessional shock service (not just seals and juice), full set of bearings and I’m not sure how much life the rear triangle has.

To suit 1.75m tall, short legs, round belly.
I’ve been looking at: cotic flare – could be bit heavy, edit air drop – bit too much bike (travel), Aeris – can’t get past the plate welded on the seat tube, Swarf curve – only seven ever made.

What have you broken on your yeti? As above they can be repaired

There’s a crack where the downtube meets the bb.

Id have that inspected. Could just be in the paint, difficult to tell from that photo

I’ve got two of those ‘cracks’ near the head tube of my Ibis Tranny. They’ve been there for the last 4 years ever since I picked up the frame ex-demo. I was told they were paint cracks – and not to worry about them – by Ibis.

I’d just carry on riding that.

I will – tomorrow it goes to Graubunden but sooner or later it’ll really be broken and I don’t want to be left without a bike.
