    Laptop, charger and a spare network cable. Also a piece of discarded chewing gum wrapped in a napkin which will shortly be going in the bin.

    Every day:
    * Jimi wallet (one debit card, some notes)
    * inhaler
    * packed lunch box
    * (plus phone and keys in pocket, bike helmet on head, jacket)

    Every day in winter:
    * waterproof trousers, unless I’m wearing them

    Monday in and Friday out:
    * work ‘shoes’

    Occasionally:
    * student work to be marked

    I don’t like carrying much, so I have computer, pens, etc. at home and at work, and my bike lock lives at work. It’s only a 15 minute ride each way, so I don’t bother with special bike clothes or getting changed/washed at work (other than my shoes).

    My work courier bag weighs a ton, I’m really not sure I want to go digging around in its murky depths, but there’s a load of pens; a couple of magnifying glasses; a plastic bag full of multitools*; bottle of Superglue; a zip-up case with various cables, connectors and my iPod Classic, and a spare set of headphones; assorted zip-ties; ibuprofen tablets, hay fever tablets, and painkilling gels…
    There’s probably more junk lurking around in various pockets, but I can’t be arsed to go and look!
    *Its surprising how often I get asked if I’ve got an Allen key or other tool around…
