    I am getting a Genesis Day 1 single speed in a week or so.

    This will be my first cross bike.. What tyres should I get ?

    (the tyres that come with the bike are not meant to be too good off road)

    I ran Schwalbe Smart Sam on my Singlespeed cross bike when I lived in Kent and found them pretty good in claggy mud and roots etc. Also pretty quick on road compared to MTB tyres.
