What tyres are you currently riding with this current everchanging weather
Got my 2.5 super tacky high rollers on but thinking I want to something a little faster than high rollers……I know they’re pretty decent but the weather seems to be gettin better, could I risk something else. Will 2.35s roll faster?
Whats everyone got on?
Bike is meta 55 and riding mostly trail riding. Nothing too lary.Posted 8 years ago
Yeh they’re dual ply. Bit overkill really.
Right, sure I’ve got some 2.35s somewhere. And I think one might be 60a compound. Or shall I buy some new ones.
These are cheap for schwalbes. Hairy are these similar to yours? Any goodPosted 8 years agoavdave2Member
Well the reason it poured down in Brighton today is because I took the mud x’s off on Saturday and put the fire xc’s back on. So convinced was I that this would happen that I made sure to get out early yesterday while the sun was still shining. I find the xc’s ok for most conditions apart from claggy mud which clogs them very quickly to the point where the wheels will no longer turn.Posted 8 years agochakapingSubscriber
2.2 Rubber Queens eh Ed?
How do you like them? Are they heavy? Do they come up bigger than 2.2 MKs?
My three tyre combos are…
2.0 Mud X F&R
2.35 Nevegals DTC rear, sticky front
2.4 Mountain King rear, 2.35 High Roller LUST front
If it’s been raining lots I’ll take the hardtail with Mud X, if it’s been dry I’ll take whichever bike I fancy.Posted 8 years agosootyandjimMember
On my usual bike, 2.1″ Maxxis Ignitors.
For no particular reason than I had been given them just before I decided to go ghetto tubeless (mid-last year) and I can’t be bothered to change them.
They seem to be quite a good all-round tyre, or perhaps I’m just a highly-skilled rider. 😉Posted 8 years agotheflatboyMember

Makes me laugh all this tyre changing malarkey!
For me its,
Nevegals for the winter, Nevegals for the spring, Nevegals for the summer…
i’m glad i’m not the only one! “what tyres have you run all last season, currently and for the foreseeable future until they’re bald?” er… cinders 🙂Posted 8 years ago
