OK, I’ve just ordered a rather nice Tallboy with the insurance money that I got when I had a bike stolen.
Its got me thinking about the other mountain bike that I own, a 150mm Cotic Hemlock. Its built up quite nicely with XT and Fox 36s, but I haven’t ridden it for over a year since I last went to the Alps. I ride my road bike mostly and then my XC bike the rest of the time.
I think that my options are:
1. Sell it, keep the money (might be worth £900?).
2. Sell the frame and forks and swop the bits to a hardtail to complement the Tallboy.
3. Swop the bike wholsale for a hardtail with someone who fancies trying a full Suss.
4. Keep it and ride it more, I might go back to the Alps one day!
I think that I am erring towards number 2. A hardtail makes some sense really for when I don’t want to take ££££ of bike out on muddy trails or just for a pootle with the missus. And the XT bits are all hardly used at all.
Help.
