Self amalgamating tape from Maplin. Non-adhesive so won’t leave a residue but sticks to itself. Exact same stuff that Biketart sell as chain slap protecting tape.

Skate tape, used on the deck. Propped frilly, maybe too much so?

Never heard of anybody having an issue with slippery brake levers, put sticky back velcro on them and your fingers. 😉

Didn’t Lizard Skin once do some velcro sleeves for brake levers?

don’t know about slipping, but in the winter I put a couple of layers of insulating tape on the levers. This stops my braking fingers getting too cold.

As an extreme measure, get a triangular file and cut a checkerboard pattern in the lever!

A few dabs of Superglue on your fingertips should sort the problem 🙄

Silicone sealant your glove finger tips to the levers.

I cant say I’ve ever had this problem, ever.
I do remember back in the early 90’s you could get brake lever skins. They came in a silver foil packet and you slid them over the levers and they shrunk onto your levers to give extra grip. They were black rubber with ridged lines parallel to the levers.
Only ever fitted them to one bike, which got stolen and never got them again.

Just thought of something, try heatshrink. The stuff you put over cable junctions and heat up to shrink it into place (a hairdryer will do).

It’s a rubbery material and will do the job perfectly.

for anyone that seems to think it’s a problem that doesn’t exist ….
it’s a combination of the gloves i’m using and the shiny smooth xt levers . i’ll be ordering some new gloves soon which’ll hopefully give better grip but wanted to improve the grip on the levers themselves as well. Bare handed ..no probs but it’s a bit chilly for that at the mo!
