I have a med (18) 5 Pro and am looking to upgrade the original stem – it’s an Orange Stalk – 80mm with 7 deg rise.

Currently thinking of a Thomson X4 at 70mm (0 rise). Any other suggestions ?

Have an 18 inch 5 and use a 90mm with 10 deg rise as on 5 SE.

Dave – thanks for that – I wasn’t sure whether the SE came with a 70 or a 90, maybe I’ll go for that.

    Works great for me.
Added rigidity to front end increasing to oversize X4 stem and EA70 bars.
Looks awesome. Teamed up with thomson layback seatpost.

Funn 45 smx stem with low rise 720 full on bars. Low and wide…makes for a superb fun bike.

Dave – I am just about convinced to go for the 90mm -) I am thinking that dropping to 70 might just make the climbing a bit too hard…….

thanks guys – are your 90mm stems zero rise or 10 degree ?

    Thanks

Currently running a 75mm Gravity stem on my 5. Steep climbs do require some re-positioning in order to keep the front down.

But its worth it for the quick steering response.

Dave E -saw your post on the other thread – I got the Thomson stem – 90mm, 10 deg, today so will fit that and then most likley go for the EA 70’s. Cheers

I have a 70mm Bonty fitted – good compromise for all round trail rides, though for alps trips would consider 50mm.
