It might be worth giving a couple of Cotswold Outdoor shops a ring to see if they have any Mountain Hardware Lamina 35s left in the sale, I picked one up for £45 and they had quite a few in the Bakewell store a couple of weeks ago, not advertised on the website any more though.

Good for 0 deg c, lower with thermals on.

I've just been looking for a down bag (albeit with a £100 budget) and concluded that Alpkit ones are hard to beat for value if looking for a new one. I ended up getting a used Rab one from the classifieds on here though so would second that or ebay etc. Snugpack ones seemed pretty good for synthetic bags around your budget.

How about a Tesco down sack £37 and used with a fleece sleeping bag liner? (I got one in TK Maxx for around a fiver). I've used a Tesco bag out on Dartmoor when the temperature's dropped below zero and slept well, although I prefer my four-times-the-price ME Lightline for true comfort.

Cotswolds outdoors have got several synthetic sleeping bag offers including this one….

And Taunton Leisure have the aforementioned Mountain Hardware Laminas on offer at present.

I have found one of there for £75 + P&P

Is it worth a punt for £75

I don't believe the tesco one can be that weight and that quoted comfort rating. Its either heavier, of not as low rated as they say, or both!

The Alpkit PD400 is lighter, more compressable and offers the same warmth as that ME bag, for only £45 more….
