    Hi!

Just came to change my seat post and noticed it will almost be in all the way and it raised me to ask if my frame is too large for me.

Can anyone on here share what size board man they ride and how tall they are? 😀

    Thanks!

5′ 9.5″ and I ride a medium pro ht. I’m happy with the fit & amount of seatpost sticking out.

Is it not more important what inside leg you are rather than how tall you are?
I had a medium carbon road bike and it was far too long for me

thinking of getting one for the GF.

she is 165cm (5’6″). she looks stretched on my small Sanderson even with a 50mm stem. does anyone know if the small FS Pro comes up “short”?

    cheers.

Not many xc/trail bikes where 5’7 is a medium tbh. I’m 5’10 and skip between mediums and smalls.

6’3″ approximately and ride a 20″ as that’s the biggest frame they do, feels a little small sometimes, and others spot on.

Mine doesn’t feel small to be honest. I had a medium carrera then moved to this, my friends small felt too small though. I just don’t have my seat post as high as most on here for some reason.

I just wonder if having a larger frame is limiting me.

I’m 6ft and iirc have a 31″ inside leg. Ride a medium 18″ full suss. Wouldn’t want it bigger. Was riding a 19″ large, specialised hard tail before and think the fit is similar.

6’1”, 32.5″ inside leg riding the med full sus with a 50mm stem. Chuckable without ever feeling too small. Probably not XC racer efficient though.

Its notimho about inside leg, as a prev poster mentioned, but how comfy you feel when reaching the bar. The thing about frame sizes is as they get bigger (taller) they also get longer.

I am 5’6-5’7 ish, with a 30 inside leg. For clothes for example, sometimes I am a cut long 29 in m&s clothing, and sometimes a cut short 31. However, despite getting away sometimes with medium legs, I am always in suit/jacket terms, a “short” in the topbody.

With bikes, it’s the same. I tried a 53cm Boardman Road bike, and it was far too long for me, the reach to the bars was so far, that Whislt I could just about reach them, my control over the gears/brakes and stearing would have been limited, and I didn’t want to “gamble” on “adapting” to the bike over time pysiologically. I eventually then bought a Bianchi 49cm road bike, and whilst it can fel a tiny bit “compact” up front, it’s far more comfy than a “superman” position that the larger frames needed, even if all the measuring guides suggest a 52/53 cm frame should be my fit.

In terms of mountain bikes, it depends more on the maufacturer. Orange mediums seem to fit me, as do Kona’s (well, the one’s I’ve tried) but in trying Marin and Specialised, I always needed to drop down to a small size. You do need to try a bike rather than buy on the basis of a rave review for this reason.
