My sister has an idea that she’d like to try and is looking for a suitable web service for it.

The idea is to have regular meetings with stakeholders but as some are remote it would have to be by video conference. There would be one main meeting and from this there would be splinter meetings with just some of the stakeholders. There would be documents generated at the main meeting that would go into the splinter meetings, worked on and brought back into the main meeting.

Ideally they’d have voice and where possible video in addition to the document collaboration work.

Is there any service out there that can do this? Numbers of participants could be in the region of 50+

Webex is the obvious choice and distribute links to collaborative google docs that can be worked on and seen by all.

I wish Google would do away with needing a Google account to join a Hangout….

We use Webex at work for this sort of thing.

Have used Webex (CISCO) and GoToMeeting (Citrix) both good and would do but watch costs for how many attendees – both similar.

IMO GTM looks a little easier and hence more professional whereas Webex looks a bit dated but both share much functionality.

Would avoid Business (alleged) Skype or Lync always found them less than good and also watch dial in options if many of the participants are overseas.

Final gotcha to watch out is calls that involve China participants 9am on Monday mornings GMT as I have often had them drop out of meeetings.

    Hope that helps?

There are a load of GoToMeeting/Webex clones out there now. But just trying to work out are the meetings and splinter meetings held in parallel or at different times?
Collaberation Google Docs and something like Slack for group text discussion on topics work well.

Thanks all, Google Docs for collaborating on work is a good call. Will check out GTM and other clones. Webex looks good though. May contact them and see if she can talk to them and see if she can get a demo.

Think they all do a month free or month by month pricing anyway
