- What new car for £20000?
I was looking at a new Focus ST estate however the boot looks too small to fit bikes in upright with wheels front wheels out mounted in fork holders….so maybe a Golf R32 and a very old van instead.Posted 4 years ago
I have been looking at loads of estates new/nearly new and the trouble is there is just so much choice and they all seem so similar re spec levels and performance. You could actually have a Fiat Doblo mini minibus thingy fully loaded for your budget if you are thinking of loading bikes in the rear.
The Caddy Maxi Life is beyond your budget unless you get the basic base spec and lowest powered engine.monkeyboyjcMember
I’ll have a similar decision in month or so.
I’ve been running a 1.6 bluemotion Golf for a week or two and I’ve been very impressed – great for long distances as well as nippy when you want it to be. Does around 60mpg on a motorway run if you keep it at 70. Boots a bit small though.
Prior to that I had a Skoda rapid for a couple of months which was horrible in comparison – just felt tacky and ‘normal’. However it had a bigger boot and was a bit better on the fuel with between 70-80mpg.
A colleague has a Alfa Romeo Guilietta which I would personally stay away from – lovely looking but not very good mpg and is uncomfortable and feels quite hard.Posted 4 years agohoneybadgerxSubscriber
Vauxhall Astra? Or the combi tourer estate version? Had one of these as my last company car and managed to get a top of the range one for the same price as a mid range A3/Golf, you get masses of kit with them and they handle really well, sporty but not over firm for long journeys.Posted 4 years ago
