    Lots of stuff on line.

My advice is always be polite. Never totally burn your bridges.

    Dear Rochey’s Line Manager,

I am writing to give notice of my resignation from X company. I have enjoyed my Y years here, and choosing to leave has not been an easy decision. I hope we can work together again in the future.

My final day will be (now plus notice period).

    Best Regards

I would like to inform you that I am resigning from my position as Chief Bike Tester for STW Ltd, effective 30 May 2013.

Thank you for the opportunities for professional and personal development that you have provided me during the last X years. I have enjoyed working for the company and appreciate the support provided me during my tenure.

I always imagine my post lottery-win resignation letter to look like this:

    “Dear Boss

Stick your stupid **** job up your fat sweaty arsehole.

    Rude letter to follow,

    Love Scapegoat. ”

Cheers Lads, just what I needed.

Scaprgoat – Love it but prob wont use.

LOL – a classy guy with his own cake making business. Shame he’s already spoken for…..

So long and thanks for all the fish!

Absolutely be cool and don’t give anyone the satisfaction of letting them know you hate them / have the arse / didn’t like the job. Not the STW way of course.
