There’s a small playground not far, perhaps 100 yards, from my apartment in Cranberry Towers. In the playground is a swing that is lacking in lubrication, and when kids play on it it sounds like an old, arthritic couple engaging in slow and gentle but persistent love making..

… and so on. I’m working from home tomorrow, and don’t want to listen to the poor, tortured swing for hours on end as it grinds away with a lack of proper lubrication – what lubrication should I apply to it to get everything, ahem, swinging nicely ?

Spray grease will sort it out, the automotive type will do. They are usually fitted with a brass/bronze bush in the top swivel.

Cucumber….. If the ‘article’ doing the rounds on Facebook extolling the many wondrous properties of cucumber including its use as a lubricant is to be trusted!
