A custom build from any of the top producers out there.

Kish…Groovy…Soulcraft would be my top three, but I am biased 🙄
And with custom you can obviously choose your brakes.

Do folk really chat about this kind of thing in the pub?

If you’re sad enough, also passes the time while stuck on the M5 on the way back from the Quantocks on a bank holiday Monday

loads of options, but has to be 853 or similar.
Why not sign up for a dave yates building course and build one yourself…

I ride a DeKerf R725 SSpd…that’s lovely, and a decade or so old now.
Ultimately tho’ I think I’d like a either Reynolds 953 Indy Fab (not yet made) or (button moon on mr spoon) a Phil Woods Piss Off (indy fab ti v. ltd.ed) … (but with discs).

Should anyone care to offer me these please?

no pics to be found, but I *love* my black SS chameleon. V-brake at the back, disk up front. does that count?

Is that a fake Piss Off?

I bet you’d be faster running than riding that…..

Ti IF SS, I had an 853 one and it was lovely, but a Ti one would be even nicerer. I’ve always fancied a Spot as they look like they’d ride great. failing that there was a lovely looking Curtis SS on here a while back.

I guess that if you are going down the custom route, the “best” frame would be the one where the builder can best translate the things you want into the bike you’d like.

yes stu its a fake alright , the same bloke made one of those fugly bikes using an old plumber pipe bender and a load of scaffold tube that some niche rider from the black country bought.

and i think we all know who’s doing the run, he’s out in the italian alps doing some altitude training

I found mine felt a little harsh in the rear especially for a steel frame – i prefered the way my old Kona with SS dropouts put on rides – guess it’s horses for courses thou – I still liked the spot thou – alhtouh i wish i’d got a 17 instead of a 19.
