What is everyone using to convert encrypted DVDs to iPad. There seems to be a rather large choice.

Why wouldn’t one be using handbrake?

Just rip normally to a DivX. Then play it in Ace Player or the like.
You don’t need any special iPad settings.

I used to use handbrake but it doesnt seem to work on newer laptop, something to do with not being 64 bit compatible, I’m not to computer friendly.

It’s two separate downloads for the 32- and 64-bit versions. If you’ve got the wrong one it won’t work. (And the Mac one is x64 only, I think).

Windows 7 comes in both 32 and 64 bit.

Check which one you have by going to the Start menu, right-click on Computer and select Properties. This will open the system properties window – look for the System type entry to see which flavour of Windows you are running.
