What film for movie evening with friends?
We’re having some friends round on Friday for dinner and a movie. Does anyone have any recommendations for good films to watch?
I guess I’m looking for something that will be entertaining at the time and give something to think about too. Once Upon a Time in the West is my current thought, or maybe Inception ( or Kung Fu Hustle)?
At a bit of a loss really, trying to get into film at the moment but have mostly just seen the odd one on tv and not given it any thought at all!

If you’re not against documentaries, consider some of those. I recommended these ones to a friend recently:
King of Kong – Excellent “cartoon” villain, surprisingly compelling considering it’s about grown men obsessing about old video gamesPosted 6 years ago
Marwencol – Really interesting angle on the human brain. Quite tragic at times.
Religulous – Not to be watched with sensitive religious friends. Maher can be abrasive at times but if you’re after talking points then an obvious one.
Thanks all, plenty there to look up and consider (with the ‘less helpful’ contributions serving to remind me that this is STW 😉 )!
CFh, easy going friends, just looking for a relaxed evening with a bottle of wine or two, chatting over the top as the film (and whoever is watching most seriously) allow! Figure we’d have dinner first, then movie.
Hadnt considered documentaries, but thinking about it loved ‘Man on Wire’ when I saw that a year or two ago.Posted 6 years ago
