The nasty piece of work that is Emma Way? Last I heard, her case had been referred to the CPS. It’s all gone a bit quiet now the furore has settled down.

Apparently…

A spokesman for Norfolk Constabulary said today: “A file has been submitted for consideration by the constabulary’s criminal justice unit in due course.”

Miss Way was suspended from her job as a trainee accountant while police investigated.

It’ll probably just fizzle out in hand of CPS is my guess. Possibly for the best though? She’s just a naive twerp and has probably suffered enough by now; he’s ok and holds no grudges, and the whole event appeared peppered with areas of ambiguity.

It’s Norfolk so the witchfinder general will need to work his way round to that part of the county on the back of a pig before deliberation can be reached.

It never appeared like that to me.

In fact it all seemed very straightforward to me – she hit a cyclist, failed to stop, and rather than show any remorse publicly gloated over what she had done.
