Having spent way too much time on this weird forum, I have decided to get all niched up and bought an on-one 456 summer season frame. Thinking of trying to run it singlespeed for jumpy messing about plus local/winter rides.

What's the best cheapo chain tensioner out there? Seen the ones on on-one and charlie the bikemonger. Is it best to get a sprung one or not?

It'll take more than an On one and a chain tensioner to reach true nichevarna. 🙄 😉

Never had any problem with my old DMR tensioner, needs QR to work though.

The gusset one looks a pretty simple design.

I tried a sprung fireeye one which broke/bent after a very small crash.

Thanks for that – sounds like the roller type rather than the sprung type would be better then.

How about using a front DH tensioner mounted off the ISCG tabs.

Oh yeah someone else mentioned that somewhere and I forgot – I have a Blackspire Stinger on my Pitch I guess I could take off and try out.
