Think people are going way over the top and getting carried away with what every one else is saying, yes, he needs a telling off but you lot seem to want to burn him to a stake! He hasn’t murdered anyone… 🙄

I dunno. I’d never have done it but if a mate had done similar when I was 18, I’d probably have pointed and laughed. With age, comes an increased appreciation of the little that’s left of our wild spaces and I reckon that’s why the vid has touched a nerve here in stw land. Most of us are pretty ancient…

The old cafe at Coed y Brenin had a bike thrown quite high up a tree.
It was still there the last time I looked.

It’s a trail centre and some lads having a bit of fun. I view trail centres as a bit of a cess pit anyway. Afterall, how much damage has been done just to create the trail to start with?

Innertubes in trees is a good symbol for the place really. I guess it reminds every one of the thousands who cycle through there, tearing up the forest, of the damage they’ve caused.

If it was out in the middle of nowhere, in a beautiful area, then fair enough, I’d be knarked.

But I dont think any of you lot with your over priced bikes shipped all the way from the other side of the world, and your powerful cars that spew poisonous gas that you spend hours sat in just to ride your bike, can really take the moral high ground.

My biggest disappointment is that I, admittedly very naively, expect better from mountain bikers. I guess I always just assume that those who ride tend to have an environmental sympathy and generally don’t think that it’s cool to throw their unwanted junk into trees.

As a Gizzy regular, I would have loved to have seen him doing that… He certainly wouldn’t have ridden another meter until that tube was back in his rucksac.
