As a confirmed lover of RS forks, I have to say my Vanillas are just that bit nicer than any coil RS fork I've had. Better damped. Lovely.

Not as stiff as Pikes though, if that's what you need

Marzocchi 44 RC3 Ti. coil/oil, open-bath, Ti spring, RC3 damping cartridge just like the 66/888. I can't imagine anything better.

Yeah, currently running Pikes, which I love, but a bit heavy.

Tempted by the 44 RC3 but they're fixed at 140mm…

Has anyone get the 44 RC3s? Thoughts?

I have been running the 44 RC3TI since the begining of last November without any problems. I´m a big fan of the RC cartridge system I also have the 55 RC3, two sets of Z1 RC2, 4xfox,1x Manitou, 1x Pace and 1xRock shox for comparison. The 44 is easy to set up and plush to ride it has become my favourite fork for all day rides which incorporate steep techy sections and IMHO will put Marzocchi back on the top of the tree.

exciting stuff mbs2010 – i've been waiting to hear some 2010 Bomber rider reviews.

Dammit! I was hoping for a shocking review so I wouldn't spend any more cash! Fail!

I love bombers too but have been scared off in recent years by the issues.

I might have to return to these. Expensive though…

    er Rockshox Tora's ?

they only wind out to 130mm (will that do?) but they are about half the price of anything else that's been mentioned. (just found em for £150 on ebay)

the 318 models have motion control damping, they're good and stiff, and the chrome steel stanchions are bombproof.

Are those Marzocchi 44s flexy at all or as stiff as a Pike?

Rickos, the Pikes are ultra stiff with a 20mm axle, the 44s have a 15mm axle and are much lighter and more flexy.

Aye, but flexy noodly flexy or just a wee bit flexy compared to the Pike? How about comparing to Fox 15mm cos I know what they're like – are the 'zocchis any stiffer than those?

    Cheers

Not noodly flexy at all, they just dont feel as stiff as a 20mm Pike.Unfortunately i dont have a 15mm Fox Van for direct comparison.
