Never actually skied it before and have been looking at heading over there. Anyone ever been? Experiences?

Not a big resort at all. You can get a lift pass which links up to the neighbouring resorts of Murren and Grindelwald, which gives you a good week of varied skiing. It is not a 'expert' area at all, and the night life is fair, but makes up for that by being sooo quiet. Mostly red runs but there is a long DH world cup run finishing in the village of Wengen. The best thing IMO is the scenery of the area…it is absolutely stunning and a typical 'swiss' mountain village area, Grindelawald being particularly amazing. Snowboarders will find it difficult to board back into Wengen, as the final slopes flatten too much to board all the way back. Personally I love the place. I'm a drinker/social skier/boarder so spend most time up at the restaurants/cafes drinking gluvine anyway!
From Wengen you can take the train up to through the Eiger to the Jungfraujoch station (highest in europe) and look back at the glacier…an amazing sight if you've never seen it.

Only skied the Wengen side, and also down to Grindelwald. It's mostly not difficult. Recommend the Lauberhorn WC DH run (despite being labelled Black Run, it's mostly Blue, with Red sections IMHO, and 1 short steep bit that the pros normally jump over).
Wouldn't mind popping over to the Murren side some time.
